About O2N

In early 2019, RDA Orana received Commonwealth funding through the SME Export Hub program to establish an export hub, focussed on supporting the Mining, Technology, Equipment and Services Sector in the Orana and Central West regions.

One of the key milestones for the project was to undertake industry consultation and research and develop a strategy for the sector.

The consultation was broad based and undertaken in the second half of 2019. It included stakeholder sessions in Orange, Parkes, Dubbo, Cobar, Mudgee and Lightning Ridge.

What became evident during the consultation was the strong desire for more collaboration and networking; along with the need for improved information and support to assist businesses to be ready for the multitude of public and private sector investment occurring across the regions.

After much consideration about the best way to establish such a regional network, a decision was made by RDA Orana, in consultation with key stakeholders, to formalise the Orana Opportunity Network into a company structure that enabled member engagement and participation in programs.

In partnership with key industry stakeholders, RDA Orana has helped to form the O2N, as an industry develop corporation, for industry and by industry.

The member levels and service offerings have been shaped based on industry feedback and are targeted to support business where they need it most:

  • exposure, through the capability directory;
  • connections, for growth; and
  • support with tenders and HR.

If you are a business looking to Collaborate, Connect and Grow, then this is the network for you.
